  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone; and demonstrating compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems
  • Completing basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership (putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting‑bin inventories)
  • Contributing to a high‑performing team, embracing a growth mindset, seeking feedback, and actively expanding clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, and traveling to stores in the market as required
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations, professional standards and ethical principles; complying with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy
  • Delivering additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
Support Immunizations
  • Completing additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status for vaccine preparation and administration
  • Educating patients about the importance of vaccines and referring them to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions
  • Monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions; reporting adverse reaction events per public health requirements
  • Reviewing and collecting patient information and documenting per applicable patient
  • Monitoring and managing vaccine supplies
Required Qualifications
  • Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
    • If no mandatory age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
    • If no mandatory educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high‑school equivalency program

  • Ability to complete required training within the designated time frame
  • Attention and focus: concentration over a period of time, ability to pivot quickly between tasks, and ensuring prescription accuracy
  • Customer service and team orientation: actively look for ways to help people, respond to patient reactions appropriately
  • Communication skills: use and understand verbal and written communication, active listening, asking appropriate questions, and avoiding interruptions when necessary
  • Mathematical reasoning: use math to solve problems such as determining the total number of tablets or calculating day’s supplies
  • Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action among multiple options
  • Physical demands: mobile, standing for extended periods, lifting, scanning, bagging, reaching overhead, repetitive finger movements, use of hand and arm, visual acuity for small tasks, lifting up to 20 lbs, and speaking detailed directions
  • Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager
