Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Pharmacy technician for a 40-hour week, Mon-Fri 2:00 am–10:00 am. The role includes training to draw and dispense radiopharmaceuticals under supervision, with weekend/holiday rotations as needed.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage, on-the-job training, benefits from day one, and a $1,000 new hire sign-on bonus. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license and pharmacy tech credentials.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be 18 years or older due to driving of company vehicle.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration or Pharmacy Technician/PTCBB preferred.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• IV or clean room experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, you will be trained to draw, dispense and package radiopharmaceuticals.
• Prepare prescriptions by labeling and obtaining Staff Pharmacist approval.
• Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals.
• Receive, document and store pharmaceuticals per guidelines.
• Maintain computer inventory and records for proper material utilization.

What does Nuclear Pharmacy contribute to Cardinal Health?

Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy

Responsibilities

Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
• Draws doses into either a syringe or vial
• Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
• Receives, documents, and stores incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
• Maintains computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
• Assists and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
• Performs general laboratory and facility clean up
• May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
• Makes deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
• Speaks withcustomers andaddressquestionsand/orconcernsviatelephone
• Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver's license
• Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehiclerequired
• Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy, state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or PTCB preferred
• Abilitytomanage up to 75 pounds
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Previous IV or clean room environment experience is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Manual dexterityrequiredfor occasional reach, lifting, holding of small objects, and dispensing doses
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks
• Comfortable working in a nuclear environment
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, alternate days/shifts, or be in a rotation
• Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)
• May require vendor credentialing
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Anticipated hourly range:$19.90 - $28.30
