Job summary

Dearborn Inpatient Pharmacy seeks a part-time Pharmacy Technician for 20 hours per week, rotating shifts. Under supervision, you will prepare, store, and dispense medications with emphasis on safety and accuracy in a hospital setting.

Rotation through IV admixture, unit dose, OR and outpatient services may occur. Data entry and record-keeping duties are part of the role, with expected adherence to hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience or ASHP-accredited technician program preferred.
• State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern licensure at hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, store, distribute and dispense prescriptions under supervision.
• Rotate through IV admixture and unit dose service; rotation to OR and Outpatient may be required.
• Perform data entry and other record keeping as needed.

The pharmacy department at Dearborn is responsible for providing medication reliably and safely for our patients. We are a resource for medication information for providers, staff and patients. Pharmacy spans across the continuum of care, from outpatient to inpatient, ambulatory and specialty to critical care.

Scope of Work

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a variety of functions related to preparation, storage, distribution and dispensing of prescriptions. Within the Hospital, rotation through IV admixture and unit dose service is routine. Rotation to OR Pharmacy Services and Outpatient Pharmacy Services may be required. Performs data entry and other record keeping functions as determined to be necessary to the operations of the department.

Qualifications

• Required A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high school diploma program or GED.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
