Job summary

Position Summary

Pharmacy Technicians are at the forefront of CVS Health’s purpose, delivering compassionate care to our millions of patients every day. Success in this role includes managing all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to promptly, safely, and accurately fill patient prescriptions while providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations.

As a new Pharmacy Technician, you will complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements in accordance with your State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Your duties will be restricted at first by your manager until you complete the necessary training and licensing; thereafter you can continue to build your clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge and expertise.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Licensure requirements vary by state
  • Attention and focus: ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction
  • Customer service orientation: actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner, recognize and respond to customers’ reactions appropriately
  • Communication skills: use and understand verbal and written communication with customers and colleagues; actively listen, give full attention, ask questions, and refrain from inappropriate interruptions
  • Mathematical reasoning: ability to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating a day’s supply of a prescription
  • Problem resolution: able to judge when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; choose the best course of action for complex situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB National Certification
Physical Demands
  • Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods
  • Move about on foot to accomplish tasks, especially moving from one work area to another
  • Pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm
  • Extend hands and arms in any direction
  • Bend body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist
  • Stoop to a considerable degree, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
  • Engage in spoken communication with clarity and accuracy
  • Perceive sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information orally
  • Visual acuity: close visual acuity required for tasks such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, or inspecting small parts
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs; exerting up to 30 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay and Working Hours

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 25
Time Type: Part time
Pay Range: \$17.00 - \$27.00 per hour (or equivalent full‑time salary)
