The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. This position will assist the pharmacists and act as a liaison between the pharmacy and the village clinics.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Must pass basic math quiz.
Minimum Experience: Pharmacy technician experience preferred. Past work experience should include customer service and/or detail-oriented positions.
License, Certification, Registration: Valid driver's license preferred.
Equipment/Tools: Office equipment (i.e., computers, multi-line telephone, fax machine, etc.)
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to speak Yup'ik is preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
