Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of management or pharmacy training in leadership or related experience.
• Associates degree with 3 years pharmacy training or leadership experience.
• High school diploma with 5 years pharmacy training or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and monitors the workflow of Pharmacy Technicians to ensure efficient drug distribution.
• Evaluates technician responsibilities and allocates tasks equitably.
• Coordinates technician projects with pharmacy managers to meet hospital goals.
• Oversees education and training of pharmacy technicians.
• Conducts and documents technician orientation and onboarding.
• Coordinates continuing education programs for technicians.
• Develops relationships with external technician training programs.
• Performs technician competency assessments and reviews.
• Manages technician staffing and shifts based on absences.
• Performs essential duties of a technician when needed.
• Ensures completion of assigned projects with follow-up.
• Interviews and hires pharmacy technicians and coordinates peer interviews.
• Annually evaluates competency assessments and implements improvements.
• Ensures technicians maintain state and national registrations.
• Completes personnel management duties for staff.
• Conducts routine technician meetings.
• Participates in division meetings with management.
• Ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
• Initiates corrective actions as needed.
