Job summary

CAMC Health System in Charleston, WV is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Director of Pharmacy in managing controlled substances, storage and distribution across the hospital. You will oversee data collection to prevent drug diversion and assist with automated dispensing hardware implementation to improve patient care and outcomes.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare patient-specific orders, stock supplies, and perform audits using the EMR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification is required.
• State Certification is required.
• 3 years related experience; substitution: 1 year may substitute for ASHP program or hospital/military tech training.

Responsibilities

• Manage controlled substance acquisition, storage and distribution.
• Oversee collection and review of controlled substance data to prevent drug diversion.
• Manage Automated Dispensing hardware and assist with implementation.
• Enter physician orders into the pharmacy information system and verify patient demographics.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and floor stock in patient care areas.
• Assist with preparation of medications and sterile products under pharmacist supervision.
