Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC. seeks a PRN Pharmacy Tech to support Gateway Rehab in Florence, KY. You will fill physician orders, prepare medications including IV admixtures, and maintain inventory under a registered pharmacist’s supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, an active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license, and a valid driver’s license for multi-site duties. Hospital experience is preferred to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Six months hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required for multi-site duties.
• Ability to operate computer and pharmacy software with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations.
• Maintain drug inventory and confidential patient records.
• Support Antibiotic Stewardship initiatives focusing on patient safety.

Hospital Details

Gateway Rehab, located in Florence, KY is a 40 bed inpatient rehab providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system. Duties would include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining confidential patient records. May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Required Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
• Valid driver’s license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

• Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
