Job summary

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician for Gateway Rehab in Florence, KY. Under supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will support hospital drug distribution, prepare medications, and maintain records.

The position requires licensure as a Pharmacy Technician, a high school diploma, and may require a valid driver's license for multi-site deliveries. Prior hospital experience is preferred, and the team emphasizes patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current, valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of employment is required.
• Valid driver’s license may be necessary for multi-site facility deliveries.
• Six (6) months hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists under pharmacist supervision with drug distribution duties.
• Fills physician orders and prepares medications, including IV admixtures and extemporaneous preparations.
• Maintains drug inventory and confidential patient records.
• Complies with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Hospital Details

Gateway Rehab, located in Florence, KY is a 40 bed inpatient rehab providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system. Duties would include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining confidential patient records. May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Required Skills

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
• Valid driver’s license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
