Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE is seeking a part-time Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in inpatient and outpatient care, including dispensing and medication delivery.

Under supervision, you will charge medications, fill Pyxis Medstations, manage IV room tasks, and help maintain inventory while ensuring patient safety across age groups.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing (CPhT or EXCPT).
• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience required.
• Experience with Pyxis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists and pharmacy personnel in hospital pharmacy operations.
• Prepare, dispense and deliver medications for inpatients and outpatients.
• Charge medications, fill Pyxis Medstations, and redistribute returns.
• Maintain inventory levels within the department.
• Support preparation and delivery of parental solutions for inpatients/outpatients.
• Maintain IV room workflow: deliver IVs, recycle IV products, process IV returns, batch IVs.

Job Title: Certified Pharmacy Technician

Shift:PRN per department needs. Weekend and holiday requirements.
Location: Saint Francis Hospital- Wilmington, DE

Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and according to the established procedures of the pharmacy department, the technician assists the pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel in all aspects of hospital pharmacy. This includes but is not limited to the preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications for inpatients and outpatients, performing related duties to maintain workflow such as charging medications, filling Pyxis™ Medstations, crediting and redistributing returns and assisting in the maintenance of inventory levels within the department. In addition to the above, the technician assists the pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel in the preparation, dispensing and delivery of parental solutions for inpatients and outpatients. The Technician will maintain the workflow in the IV room with activities such as delivering the IVs to the nursing units, recycling of IV products, processing IV returns and batching IV’s and syringes as backup stock for new orders. The purpose is delivery of quality care commensurate with the age of the patient population for the said designated area. (ie. neonate through geriatrics).
