Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to prepare and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will fill, label, and deliver medications, assist with IV admixtures, and maintain stock levels with accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires at least four years of hospital pharmacy technician experience, and certification such as PTCB or ExPT.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience (or equivalent experience).
• PTCB or ExPT Certification required.
• Comprehensive experience as a pharmacy technician including at least 2 competencies: sterile products, chemotherapy preparation, medication reconciliation, controlled substance surveillance, inventory optimization, ADC/carousel optimization, buyer, billing experience, technician training or PI/QA experience.

Responsibilities

• The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Filling and labeling medications, refilling Pyxis, delivering medications to patient care areas.
• Preparing IV admixture solutions, answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff.
• Maintaining medication stock levels and proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost effective pharmaceutical services.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately uses information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
