Job summary

Avera Health is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician in training to join the Long Term Care Pharmacy team. You will work under pharmacist supervision, assist in labeling, packaging medications, and support efficient medication delivery.

The program includes didactic, simulation, and experiential learning; after certification, you may be promoted, with a two-year employer commitment. This role offers on-site work in Rapid City, SD with day hours and on-call involvement.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician in Training registered with South Dakota Board (within 30 days).
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician or approved training program.

Responsibilities

• Under Pharmacist supervision, input and prepare labels and packages for inpatient or outpatient orders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications, calculations, regulation, PPE, and patient safety.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, customers and teams to promote high-quality care and prevent errors.
• Perform clerical duties such as billing and inventory procedures.
