Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to join our clinical team. You will perform duties related to procurement, preparation, distribution and storage of drugs, and support pharmacy operations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent with an accredited technician program, North Carolina registration, and PTCB or ExCPT certification. A minimum of two years’ pharmacy technician experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program.
• Acceptance into pharmacy school.
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.
• College coursework in business/management and position-specific advanced coursework is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pharmacy Purchasing and Inventory Management. Procure medications, chemicals, and supplies from wholesalers and vendors.
• Maintain inventory levels to support patient care and compounding operations.
• Monitor stock levels and usage trends to determine purchasing needs.
• Communicate with vendors regarding orders, backorders, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with departments and suppliers to ensure timely receipt of products.
• Maintain vendor relationships through professional service.
• Review inventory and place orders based on demand.
• Assist with inventory tracking and documentation.
