Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III-Central Operations for rotating shifts. Under a pharmacist, you will prepare inpatient and outpatient meds, manage unit doses, sterile products, IV admixtures, and narcotics, with duties focused in the Feinberg 9th floor pharmacy.

This full-time role requires a High School Diploma and CPhT or ExCPT certification; newly licensed technicians have two years to obtain certification. Weekend and holiday rotations apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• CPhT (PTCB) or ExCPT (NHA) certification required for licensees after 2008.
• Newly licensed technicians have 2 years from license date to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medication orders for inpatients.
• Prepares prescriptions for outpatients.
• Picks up orders and delivers medications to nursing units.
• Schedules IV admixtures and reports variances to a pharmacist.
• Enters new drug orders into the patient medication profile.
• Maintains inventory and assists in dispensing duties.
