Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Illinois seeks a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and central services under pharmacist supervision.

You will dispense and prepare medications, assist with sterile compounding, use automation systems and EHRs, and help maintain inventory and regulatory compliance. The role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year hospital pharmacy experience; active licensure as a Pharmacy Technician is required.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ years of contemporary hospital pharmacy experience, retail or ambulatory experience [Required]
• Active State Pharmacy Technician registration required
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) [Required] OR Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) [Required]

Responsibilities

• Rotating days/evenings, every other weekend and a rotating holiday schedule.
• Dispense and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Sterile compounding and IV solutions under USP <795> and <797> guidelines.
• Operate medication automation systems and ADCs.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and manage controlled substances.
• Contribute to quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
