Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to help distribute medications and support pharmaceutical care. The role requires basic pharmacy knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including sterile and nonsterile compounding under a pharmacist preceptor.

Responsibilities include entering orders, verifying labels and billing data, maintaining inventory, and assisting with drug recalls.

Qualifications

• Education - HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience - 1 year in a related role or healthcare setting.
• TX Board of Pharmacy requirements: Registered Pharmacy Intern (RPH-INT) or Pharmacy Technician (PHT).

Responsibilities

• Maintains a specialized area and supports multiple pharmacy functions including Purchasing, Receiving, Auditing, Sterile and nonsterile compounding, Billing, Informatics, Medication Reconciliation, Licensing, Contracting, and Marketing.
• Enter medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions and fill per label, verifying product, dosage form, and quantity.
• Process paperwork for payment and delivery of pharmacy supplies; monitor lost charges.
• Order supplies daily and coordinate returns for credit when expired.
• Coordinate the Drug Recall Process and maintain a clean, stocked work environment.
• Assist with IV admixtures under aseptic techniques and pharmacist supervision.
• Answer questions from patients and medical staff; deliver medication and carts to floors.
