Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication distribution and related tasks in a hospital setting. The role involves working under a pharmacist preceptor, handling orders, compounding, and ensuring accurate billing and inventory control.

Qualifications include HS Diploma/GED, 1 year of experience, and TX Board of Pharmacy registration as either RPH-INT or PHT. On-site position with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within the pharmacy

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year of experience.
• Certification/Registration: TX Board of Pharmacy requirements (RPH-INT or PHT).
• Pharmacy technician or intern registration specifics per TX Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a specialized area of responsibility including purchasing, receiving, auditing, sterile and non-sterile compounding, billing, informatics, medication reconciliation, licensing, contracting, and marketing.
• Enter medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions and fill per label; ensure dosage and charge match formulary.
• Complete and file paperwork to ensure payment and delivery of pharmacy supplies; monitor lost charges.
• Order supplies daily and coordinate returns for credit when meds expire; manage drug recalls.
• Help maintain a clean, stocked work environment under policies; perform inventory control.
• Compound or admix ingredients for dispensing under pharmacist supervision; perform IV admixtures aseptically.
• Assist patients and staff with nonjudgmental questions; answer simple questions from medical staff and patients.
• Deliver medication to patients and carts to floors daily.
