Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience, preferably in an administrative support or call center environment.
• Minimum 1 year of high-volume customer service or healthcare call center experience.
• Pharmacy terminology, medication processes, and prior authorization knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to accurately document call activity and prior authorization information.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume inbound calls from members, providers, and healthcare professionals.
• Provide professional customer service and guide callers through the prior authorization process.
• Review clinical information and documentation for completeness based on established criteria.
• Accurately document approvals, denials, and case information in the appropriate systems.
• Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist for further evaluation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and internal procedures.
• Perform outbound calls as needed based on business requirements.
• Navigate multiple computer systems while maintaining accurate documentation.
