The role emphasizes accuracy, quick responsiveness to inquiries, and adherence to procedures. The position requires active national certification, an Arizona license, and 1–5+ years of Prior Authorization experience.

Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician certification and Arizona State Pharmacy Technician license, current and in good standing, are required.
• Between 1-5+ years of Pharmacy Prior Authorization processing experience.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Ability to adjust based on business or department needs.
• Good organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Process prior authorization requests received by phone, fax, or electronically using established guidelines.
• Proactively complete approvals/denials and maintain documentation.
• Review denial language to ensure NCQA requirements are met and follow workflows.
• Answer high volumes of inquiries from providers, pharmacies and internal partners.
• Maintain productivity, quality and timeliness; participate in training as required.
