Job summary

Advocate Health in Fairbanks, AK is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications. The role includes data entry, insurance verification and labeling, with opportunities to participate in compound preparation under supervision.

The position is full-time, 1st shift (6:30 AM–3:00 PM), every other weekend and holiday, with a pay range of $21.85 to $32.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Pharmacy technician certification (CPhT or ExCPT) within 18 months from start date.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with technical duties in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Support medication distribution tasks and inventory controls.
• Record patient demographics, insurance verification and label generation in the pharmacy system.
• May assist in sterile compounding and IV admixture where applicable.
• Participate in training of technicians and extenders as applicable.
