Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in dispensing and packaging under pharmacist supervision. You will verify packaging processes and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy based on state worked. National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
  • Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
  • Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities. Understands the limitations to performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice.
  • Maintains competency to work in the IV room, including performing hazardous compounding. Provides some functional supervision of technicians.
  • Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service. Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
  • Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students.
  • Mentors technicians in learning new tasks.

Description:
SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying the medication packaging process and outcomes. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations.
