Job summary

Technology Consulting Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for an on-site role in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The position is contract-to-hire and requires US citizenship.

The technician will fill prescriptions, assist with IV preparations, and support data entry for reimbursements under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. The candidate should have good verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to learn product codes

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and prepares IVs under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
• Enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and obtain reimbursement payment with Billing Supervisor.
• Prepackaging medication for dispensing according to standards and government regulations under RPh supervision.
• Assist in final checking of filled prescriptions and coordinate delivery to the customer.
• Maintain inventory, rotate medications and supplies, post lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and check equipment for calibration, safety and cleanliness.

Job description

TCI has an immediate need for a Pharmacy Technician in Wilkes Barre, PA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Note: This position requires US Citizenship and work is performed on-site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, fills prescriptions and prepares IVs.
• Works with Billing Supervisor to enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement payment.
• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing according to standards and government regulations.
• Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions, which may include stating the medication for RPh final review and/or packaging of medication post RPh final review and coordinating accurate and timely delivery to the customer.
• Assists Pharmacy Management in maintaining good inventory practices which may include receiving and rotating incoming medications and supplies, posting lot numbers, expiration dates and assisting in physical inventory.
• Works with Technician Supervisor in maintaining a clean/safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in warehousing or distribution inventory management.
• Certified pharmacy technician licenses, if required by individual State Board of Pharmacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Shift requirements:1st shift - M-F 9am-5pm and every other weekend OR M-F 11am-7:30pm and every other weekend.
