Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in filling orders, pre-packaging, compounding, and stock management. You will use Pyxis and Pharmogistics to ensure accurate dispensing and assist with unit-dose packaging and deliveries across inpatient and outpatient areas.

The role requires a NM Pharmacy Tech certification (PTCB or NHA) and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Pharmacy Tech State of NM certification is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB or Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities.
• Follows Pyxis, Pharmogistics, and CII safe protocols.
• Performs non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Handles non-sterile unit dose packaging and cart, tray, and kit prep.
• Delivers supplies to patient units and ancillary areas.
• Maintains records for controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Assists with inventory management and stock checks.
• Supports compliance with Department policies.

Summary: Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to:
• Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility
• Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe
• Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Non-sterile unit dose packaging
• Cart, tray, and kit preparation.
• Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications
• Proper waste or disposal
• Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas.
• Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.
• Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
• Performs other functions as required or assigned.
