Job summary

Meijer is opening a new Pharmacy Team Leader position for a brand-new Glen Carbon, IL location scheduled to open Spring 2027. The role focuses on leading day-to-day pharmacy operations, staff hiring, training, and program implementation to ensure safe, accurate dispensing and excellent patient service.

The ideal candidate will bring pharmacist licensure, 3+ years in retail, and at least 1 year of management experience, with immunization certification and CPR.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist must hold a valid state license.
• Immunization certification required (excluding Indiana).
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 3 years in retail/community practice.
• Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staffing selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Conduct performance reviews of pharmacists and technicians.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions.
• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Implement pharmacy programs including financial results, clinical services, labor, inventory, stock loss, security, patient services, and profitability of the pharmacy.
• Educate and mentor pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform at the highest level.
• Ensure compliance with Meijer policies and state/federal laws.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy

Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice

Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana)

CPR Certification

3 years of experience in retail/community practice

One year management experience (preferred)
