Job summary

Meijer in the United States seeks a Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations, staff supervision, and clinical services, including immunizations, while ensuring accuracy in filling prescriptions and adherence to policies.

The role requires a Doctorate of Pharmacy or equivalent, state licensure, CPR, and retail experience; management experience is preferred. You will mentor technicians, drive profitability, and maintain patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist certification (except Indiana).
• CPR Certification required.
• 3 years of experience in retail/community practice.
• One year of management experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and policies; understanding of regulatory in the state of operation.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Conduct performance reviews for pharmacists and technicians.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions.
• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Execute pharmacy programs, including financial results, clinical services, labor, inventory, and profitability.
• Educate and mentor staff to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform at a high level.
• Hold team members accountable and drive growth of the pharmacy business.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and development capabilities.
• Comply with Meijer policies and state/federal laws.
• Perform clinical services, including immunizations where allowed.
• Prioritize workload with effective communication.

Plans, directs and supervises team members in the day to day operations of the Pharmacy. Duties include, but are not limited to: technician hiring, filling prescriptions accurately, staff training, financial management, inventory control, scheduling, providing great friendly service, team building, clinical services, patient safety, and pharmacy adherence to all corporate policies, federal and state legal policies.

• Responsible for staffing selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to prioritize workload.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
