Position Summary

The Pharmacy Systems Technician provides expertise in pharmacy systems and technology, supporting the overall operation of the pharmacy department. They assist in developing, recommending, and executing process improvement initiatives, and help coordinate operational processes and workflows with pharmacy leadership.

Job Duties
  1. Oversight and troubleshooting of all pharmacy-related automation and technology systems, including central pharmacy platforms, medication dispensing cabinets, code cart replenishment systems, and labeling products.
  2. Assist with daily pharmacy operations.
  3. Participate in department quality improvement activities.
  4. Develop reports for management and staff.
  5. Assist with interface testing and resolving issues between EPIC and pharmacy automation systems.
  6. Investigate and resolve controlled substance discrepancies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year hospital pharmacy experience
  • Knowledge and ability to use equipment or computer systems necessary for medication preparation
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and medical terminology and calculations
  • Critical thinking skills for troubleshooting complex pharmacy technology systems
  • Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within 180 days
Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs, with activities including pushing/pulling patients on beds or stretchers, lateral transfers, and patient transport. Frequent standing/walking, with activities such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR as required.
