Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk in the Pharmacy department to support daily operations, assist customers, stock supplies, and handle cash transactions. The role emphasizes care, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, efficient pharmacy environment.

You will gather patient info to prepare prescriptions, process refill orders, and coordinate vaccines where permitted by law. A high school diploma and vaccination certification are required or preferred depending on duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Six months up to one year of similar or related experience preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile.
• Answer the telephone promptly and assist with refill orders.
• Gather patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
• Stock received product and supplies and keep pharmacy supplies well stocked.
• Review prescriptions that have not been picked up as requested by the department manager.
• Order product and supplies at the department manager's request and review invoices on product received.
• Log invoices as necessary and complete cash transactions accurately.
• Prepare paperwork and compile medicine for delivery orders and mail-outs at the request of the department manager.
• Coordinate nursing home medicines as necessary.
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law, with required certification where applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality of customers' private medical information and keep area clean.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
