Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Rhode Island Hospital facility to receive and distribute medications and supplies across the Consolidated Service Center. You will ensure proper documentation, compliance with DSCSA, USP guidelines, and safe handling of hazardous drugs.

The role requires at least 1 year of experience, RI licensure, and CPhT certification within 12 months. Expect routine interactions with pharmacists and purchasing staff, with standard weekday

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of college preferred.
• Current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II licensure.
• If not certified, sits for CPhT exam within first 6 months and achieves within 12 months.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Receives medications and pharmaceutical supplies at the loading dock and transports within the CSC.
• Identifies suspected illegitimate medications and takes appropriate action.
• Initiates and executes electronic tracing of medications received and transferred out.
• Uses computerized systems to perform stock receiving and inventory operations.
• Prepares and repackages bulk non-sterile products for distribution.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of pharmacy supply chain areas.
