Job summary

Valor Compounding Pharmacy is seeking a Shipping Specialist to join the Customer Care team. This part-time role handles packaging compounded medications and shipping via FedEx, while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and internal teams.

You will prepare medications for shipment or pickup, differentiate packaging for refrigerated items, and communicate tracking updates. The role reports to the Lead Shipping Specialist in Berkeley, CA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience and familiarity with FedEx.
• Pass drug screening, background check, and pre-employment verification.
• Read, understand, and comply with HIPAA.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs and handle occasional 50 lb ice packs.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package patient medications for shipment via FedEx.
• Prepare patient medications for pick-up.
• Custom package patient medications per client branding requirements.
• Differentiate packaging for refrigerated vs. regular products.
• Scan and communicate with patients using FedEx tracking in-app.
• Monitor FedEx tracking for patient and facility shipments.
• Manage shipping-related updates and delays for patients.
• Escalate shipping issues as needed.
• Maintain and file packing lists.
• Order and maintain packaging supplies.
• Coordinate branded packaging inventory with clients.
• Assist other departments with small projects.
• Cross-train in Customer Care functions and provide support as needed.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Participate in trainings as needed.
