Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus 600 practical hours working in retail and/or pharmacy operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions and duties of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Enter prescription information in the computer system, including patient and prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution.
• Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctors.
• Retrieve medications from inventory as permitted by state law.
• Create prescription labels and place them on containers as allowed by state law.
• Place medications into containers as allowed by state law.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input data into the system.
• Assist in keeping the Pharmacy department clean and orderly.
• Assist in inventory management: order review, returns, restocking, and inventory prep.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.

Education
