Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus 600 practical hours working in retail and/or pharmacy operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Enter prescription information including patient and prescriber searches, drug selection, interpretation and entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Accept and process new and refill prescriptions and obtain refill authorizations as permitted by state law.
• Retrieve medications from inventory as permitted by state law.
• Create prescription labels and place labels on containers.
• Place medications into containers.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input data into the computer system.
• Assist in maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
• Assist in inventory management, including order reviews, inventory returns, restocking, and physical inventory prep.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.
