Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

1. Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
2. Enter prescription information into the computer, including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation & entry, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution.
3. Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctors where permitted by law.
4. Retrieve medications from inventory where permitted by law.
5. Create prescription labels and affix them to containers where permitted by law.
6. Place medication into prescription containers where permitted by law.
7. Complete paperwork related to prescriptions and input data into the system where permitted by law.
8. Maintain the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized.
9. Assist with inventory management, including order review, returns, restocking, and inventory counts.
10. Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by law.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following are required:

• High school diploma or GED, plus 600 hours of practical experience in retail or pharmacy operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
