Job summary
Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead daily pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive high-quality patient care. This role requires overseeing staff performance, optimizing workflow, and maintaining inventory and financial performance.
The position emphasizes clinical services such as immunizations and disease state management, working closely with store leadership to deliver patient-centered care across Walgreens stores.
Qualifications
- BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited institution.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
- Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
- At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, records, compliance, operations, software and insurance billing.
- Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
Responsibilities
- Counsels patients on medicine use, risks, interactions, generics, and OTC products.
- Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Dispenses prescribed medications accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Oversees pharmacy workflow, staff scheduling, roles, and changes; opens/closes pharmacy.
- Ensures Good Faith Dispensing practices with regulated substances when filling prescriptions.
