Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician, operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within company policies, laws, and regulations. Lead recruitment, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technician staff, including disciplinary actions and termination decisions.
Customer Experience
- Engage with customers and patients, assist with products and services, resolve complaints, and answer non-clinical questions to ensure a positive experience. Build strong relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering healthcare services to enhance customer satisfaction.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists with patient care activities such as registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, and verification. Support healthcare services like vaccinations and health screenings, adhering to legal guidelines.
- Exercise independent judgment within authorized policies and regulations to delegate and assign non-clinical work, ensuring tasks are completed timely and efficiently. Prepare reports, manage pharmacy workflow, maintain cleanliness and supplies, and oversee inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy policies, including Good Faith Dispensing, security safeguards, and accurate insurance claim processing. Support financial and operational improvements and coordinate community outreach activities.
People & Performance Management
- Lead technician performance management, including disciplinary actions and compliance with legal requirements. Handle hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and monitoring of technician performance and licensure status.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing professional development through certifications, education, and training. Seek feedback and leverage mentorship for continuous improvement.
Communication
- Maintain effective communication with the pharmacy team and participate in store and pharmacy meetings, including briefings with the Store Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital settings
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking; except in Puerto Rico)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
