Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy.
• Eligible for Georgia Licensure. Candidate is required to be licensed in Georgia prior to official start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months, if applicable to practice specialty.
• Four (4) years of hospital Pharmacist experience OR PG1 with two (2) years OR PG2; one (1) year of managerial experience preferred.
• Managers listed as Designated Personnel for USP 797 Sterile Compounding must be BC SCP or obtain certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates the day to day operations of the Pharmacy Department including staff supervision, legal compliance and reporting, security of controlled substances, collaboration with other departments, and quality performance.
• Coordinates nursing unit inspections for compliance with regulatory standards; oversees supply areas; monitors availability of pharmacological agents, equipment, and materials; supervises staff and manages performance.
• Plans and develops work schedules; monitors workflow to meet standards; assists in development and administration of departmental policies and procedures; ensures compliance.
• Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development; attends educational in-services; participates in professional activities to maintain knowledge of trends.
• Reporting/Data Management: collects and analyzes data to generate reports for management/regulatory agencies; maintains records; manages access to controlled substances; provides information to physicians and staff.
