Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where allowed by law.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians, including disciplinary actions and termination decisions.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers by greeting them, assisting with products and services, resolving complaints, and responding to requests to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Develop strong customer relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering healthcare services to enhance their experience.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care, including registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and health services like vaccinations and screenings, where law permits.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Prepare reports and manage pharmacy inventory and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulations, and maintain pharmacy equipment and security safeguards.
- Handle prescription errors, insurance claims, and support pharmacy financial and operational improvements.
People & Performance Management
- Lead performance management, disciplinary actions, and ensure team compliance with legal and company standards.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of pharmacy technicians. Address training gaps and ensure licensure compliance.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing professional development and training as required.
- Seek feedback and mentorship to improve performance.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with the pharmacy team and participate in meetings.
- Qualifications include a High School Diploma, PTCB or ExCPT certification (except Puerto Rico), one year of pharmacy technician experience, and fluency in English. Willingness to work flexible hours and prior leadership experience are preferred.
