Job summary

Walgreens is hiring a full-time certified pharmacy technician in California to support daily non-clinical pharmacy operations and ensure a positive patient experience. Under a pharmacist's supervision, you will process prescriptions, assist with vaccines and health services, and help with inventory and records.

You will lead training and performance of technicians, drive workflow efficiency, and collaborate with store leadership to improve customer service while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in delivery of patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications for patients, counting, and verifying.
• Respond to patient calls and assist with health services under pharmacist supervision.
• Lead training and performance management of pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with policies.
• Manage pharmacy workflow and inventory, records, and annual inventory preparation.
• Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist and support the continuous quality improvement program.
• Assist in processing insurance claims and follow up with insurers and providers.
