RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Materials Management Specialist at Clara Maass Medical Center in the Pharmacy department. You will oversee procurement of medications, supplies, and pharmaceutical products, while coordinating with vendors, hospital departments, and auditors to ensure timely, compliant procurement and inventory integrity.

The role emphasizes cost-efficient purchasing, accurate data reporting, and alliance with pharmacy leadership to support safe patient care and formulary

Qualifications

• Pharmacy purchasing, procurement, and inventory management experience required.
• Knowledge of 340B program policies preferred or required as applicable.
• Ability to extract data and generate ad hoc reports using purchasing software.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with pharmacy personnel, vendors, auditors, and hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Procure medications and supplies to maintain formulary availability.
• Place and manage purchase orders and verify fulfillment for cost-effective procurement.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust par levels as needed.
• Respond to shortages by identifying alternatives and coordinating urgent orders.
• Maintain shortage lists for Pharmacy and P&T Committee; track market changes.
• Reconcile invoices and maintain purchasing histories and records.
• Extract data and prepare monthly and ad hoc reports for management.
• Coordinate recalls and ensure proper storage and product integrity.
• Collaborate with vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.
