Position Summary

As part of Cigna Pharmacy Management, the Cigna Pharmacy Sales & Account Management (CP-SAM) Senior Manager serves as the leader of pharmacy benefits strategy and main pharmacy subject matter expert. This role involves partnering with the leadership of the Cigna Medical Sales organization in the West Region, supporting Middle Market and Select Segment clients.

The CP-SAM Senior Manager will develop and maintain relationships within the assigned markets, engaging internal stakeholders, external clients, and broker/consultant partners to enhance client retention and growth strategies. They will lead a team of Pharmacy Clinical Account Managers and/or Pharmacy Account Executives, collaborating closely with Medical Sales leadership and creating market-specific strategies for pharmacy carve-in initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Retain the assigned book of business through proactive portfolio management, understanding pharmacy pricing, competitive intelligence, and performance guarantees.
  • Collaborate with Medical Sales, internal pharmacy partners, clients, and brokers to optimize pharmacy benefits and promote preferred programs.
  • Educate the Medical Sales organization and local markets on pharmacy topics, developing and executing a market-specific pharmacy business plan.
  • Offer and sell pharmacy management programs aligned with Cigna's goal of lowering total health costs.
  • Lead and support the pharmacy team in the market, including hiring, onboarding, and coaching.
  • Ensure successful client pharmacy implementations, renewals, and benefit plan changes, working with operations teams to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities Also Include

  • Develop and execute market-specific pharmacy service plans to meet financial goals.
  • Manage client assignments and support the pharmacy team’s performance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Cigna Pharmacy Management’s products and market trends.
  • Build relationships with brokers and consultants, representing Cigna in market strategy meetings and events.

For The Clients

  • Lead planning and strategy for client RFPs, ensuring pharmacy support aligns with client needs and goals.
  • Educate teams on pharmacy management options to control costs and deliver value.
  • Support escalated pharmacy issues and monitor sales and renewal activities for accurate forecasting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of PBM experience, preferably in management and strategic planning.
  • Extensive pharmacy background, with experience as a pharmacist or non-pharmacist.
  • Proficiency in client management, PBM pricing, and clinical programs.
  • Strong operational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% seasonally.
  • Previous management experience preferred.

Note: Internet connection must be via cable broadband or fiber with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload speeds for remote work.
