Job summary

Walgreens, a nationwide pharmacy leader, seeks a Pharmacy Manager in Peoria, IL to provide empathetic patient counseling, review and dispense medications, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will optimize workflow, manage inventory, and support staff performance to improve patient outcomes.

You will lead clinical services such as immunizations, disease-state management, and wellness programs while partnering with leadership to grow health and wellness offerings in the community.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited school.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including dispensing, recordkeeping and insurance billing.
• Experience with pharmacy software and technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and generics.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Reviews and accurately dispenses prescribed medications.
• Ensures pharmacy operates in compliance with regulations and policies; manages staffing and workflow.
• Maintains Good Faith Dispensing practices per state/federal laws.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to identify new business opportunities.
• Monitors IT systems, inventory, billing and clinical documentation.
