Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a licensed pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations at our Colorado location. The role includes counseling patients, immunization services, and ensuring accurate dispensing while maintaining regulatory compliance.

You will manage workflow, staff performance, and engage with local providers to expand health services. The ideal candidate has a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, active licensure, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in relevant states
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software and billing
• Experience dispensing medications with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws
• Leadership behaviors rating from last performance review (if available) and no recent disciplinary actions

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients on medication usage, interactions, and safety; refer to providers as needed.
• Perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Review and dispense prescribed medications accurately; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee pharmacy workflow, staffing, scheduling, and adherence to policies; manage opening/closing and shift changes.
• Follow Good Faith Dispensing policies and support regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to identify growth opportunities and maintain IT systems knowledge.
• Ensure insurance claims are processed accurately and support patient issue resolution with payers and providers.
