Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the medication room and the staff responsible for administering medications to patients. Working under nursing leadership, you will help manage pharmacy processes and medication administration activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include directing medication staff, coordinating with nursing and medical teams, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards in a hands-on clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of one (1) year clinic experience preferred.
• Able to work under pressure and relate well to patients, security, visitors and co-workers.
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with CPR/BLS.
• This position is open to residents of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Administer medical prescriptions as directed by health care practitioner and assist other healthcare professionals within scope of practice.
• Receive and store supplies, verify stock, and maintain inventory records.
• Communicate necessary information to nursing staff, physicians, supervisory personnel, and other staff while protecting patient dignity and confidentiality.
• Assign daily duties to medication cart nurses and conduct weekly audits of medication carts and MARs.
• Assign and audit monthly MARs for changeover and filing while completing clerical and administrative duties as needed.

How you make a difference

The position provides direction to medication staff and helps ensure medication-related operations are completed accurately and effectively.
