Job summary

Wellpath in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to assist with medication administration and inventory management under RN supervision. You will ensure adherence to policies, maintain MAR documentation, and uphold patient safety with strict HIPAA practices.

The role requires a High School diploma, 1 year in a medical setting, QMAP training, and CPR certification. Join a mission-driven team that prioritizes compassionate care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year related experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Completed QMAP training and competency evaluation.
• Current CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer prescribed medications under RN supervision, following Facility policies and safety principles.
• Document medication administration on MAR, including medications not administered and reasons for non‑administration.
• Adhere to infection control techniques, universal precautions, and six rights of medication administration.
• Participate in data collection, medication audits, and performance improvement activities; report adverse reactions promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medication cart, reorder and replace medications; protect patient confidentiality (HIPAA).

How you make a difference

As a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), you'll play a crucial role in assisting with medication administration, inventory management, and the safe storage of pharmaceutical items. Working under close supervision, you'll ensure adherence to protocols and procedures while maintaining accurate records. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will be paramount in supporting the healthcare team's efforts in delivering quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer prescribed medications under RN supervision, ensuring compliance with Facility policies, Pharmacy Board regulations, and safety principles.
• Document medication administration accurately on the Medication Administration Record (MAR), including any medications not administered and reasons for non‑administration.
• Adhere to infection control techniques, incorporate universal precautions, and uphold the six rights of medication administration.
• Participate in data collection, medication audits, and performance improvement activities, promptly reporting adverse reactions to supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medication cart, reorder and replace medications and supplies as needed, and uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience

• One (1) year related experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Completed QMAP training and passed competency evaluation in accordance with program requirements.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have current CPR Certification and provide QMAP ID number for online verification.
