Job summary

The Pharmacy Manager at Wellpath in Richmond, TX oversees the medication room and the staff responsible for administering medications to patients. Working under the Director of Nursing, this role supports the management of pharmacy processes and medication administration activities.

You will lead daily operations, ensure accurate dispensing, maintain stock levels, and coordinate with nursing and physician teams to provide safe, compassionate care for underserved populations.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of one year clinic experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain current licensure as an LPN or LVN in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescriptions and assist staff within scope of practice.
• Receive, verify, and store supplies; maintain inventory records.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and supervisors while protecting patient privacy.
• Lead medication cart nurses and conduct weekly MAR carts audits.
• Assign and audit monthly MARs and perform clerical duties as needed.

How you make a difference

The Pharmacy Manager oversees the medication room and the staff responsible for administering medication to patients. Working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, this role supports the management of pharmacy processes and medication administration activities. The position provides direction to medication staff and helps ensure medication-related operations are completed accurately and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medical prescriptions as directed by the health care practitioner and assist other healthcare professionals within the scope of practice.
• Receive and store supplies, verify stock, and maintain inventory records.
• Communicate necessary information to nursing staff, physicians, supervisory personnel, and other staff while protecting patient dignity and confidentiality.
• Assign daily duties to medication cart nurses and conduct weekly audits of medication carts and MAR’s.
• Assign and audit monthly MAR’s for changeover and filing while completing clerical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year clinic experience preferred.
• Able to work under pressure and able to relate well to patients, security, visitors and co-workers.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse within state of employment.
• Must have and maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
