Job summary
Walgreens Co. is seeking a pharmacist to provide empathetic patient counseling, immunizations, and clinical services. The role focuses on accurate dispensing, drug interactions review, and contribution to quality patient outcomes.
The Pharmacist will manage workflow, compliance with state and federal laws, and collaborative care with providers. Strong communication and leadership in a busy retail pharmacy are essential.
Qualifications
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the relevant district/states.
- Immunizer certification or willingness to become one within 90 days.
- At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including dispensing, records, compliance, and insurance billing.
- Experience dispensing prescriptions and knowledge of state/federal controlled substance laws.
Responsibilities
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and OTC products.
- Perform pharmacy tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and follow regulations and company policies.
- Oversee pharmacy procedures, staffing, scheduling, and workflow for efficient operation.
- Support patient registration, insurance reimbursements, and third party audits.
