Job description

The Manager, Pharmacy Operations supports the Director of Pharmacy in the direction of the operations of the Pharmacy Department.

• Assumes duties of Director of Pharmacy in his/her absence.


• Supervises the compounding, dispensing, ordering, and proper storage of all pharmaceuticals.


• Develops and implements appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the appropriate operations of the department.


• Directs the work of pharmacy staff.


• Assists in assuring JCAHO requirements and Medicare conditions of participation.


• Maintains a system of record keeping, accountability, and documentation with the current applicable local, state, and federal statues regarding the practice of pharmacy.


• Performs duties of a staff pharmacist as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: 5 years or residency training; 2 years hospital Pharmacy management


• Licensure/Certification: Pharmacy license
