Job description

Montefiore Medical Center is proud to announce the upcoming launch of a new acute inpatient psychiatric facility dedicated to providing high-quality, short-term psychiatric care for children and adolescents. This specialized unit will enhance access to timely, developmentally appropriate mental health services, offering a safe, structured, and compassionate environment to support patients in crisis and help stabilize their condition.

As part of our efforts to build a strong, multidisciplinary team, we are currently seeking a Pharmacy Manager. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including inpatient, ambulatory (outpatient), and sterile/non-sterile production divisions. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing the activities of both professional and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with pharmacy practice regulations.

Key responsibilities include reviewing staff time and attendance, addressing drug-related concerns, conducting quality improvement assessments, training personnel, and implementing administrative and clinical procedures. Additionally, the Pharmacy Manager plays a critical role in project management, budgeting, policy compliance, accreditation adherence, and medication safety within a bargaining unit environment.

This individual also supports workload distribution as needed and is expected to have advanced training, education, and 3–5 years of experience in progressive pharmacy practice. The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating pharmacists to align with the Pharmacy Department’s mission, vision, and both short- and long-term strategic goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Completed an accredited pharmacy school program and have a minimum of a BS in Pharmacy.
  • A minimum of a BS, MS or PharmD in a pharmacy related subject,
  • Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 residency, MBA or PHA are preferred.
  • NYS Pharmacist's License
  • 3-5 years’ experience in progressive pharmacy practice
  • Eligible for Board Certification or similar certification preferred
