Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minnesota seeks a pharmacy advocate to coordinate access to take-home medications and support patients through the prescription fill process.

The role involves working with pharmacists and care teams to resolve insurance barriers, expedite fills, and manage REMS and manufacturer reporting requirements. Prior Authorizations and appeals may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in business or healthcare field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 2 years pharmacy technician experience.
• Pharmacy Technician MN license.
• National Technician Certification within 1 Year.

Job Overview

In this role, you will serve as a pharmacy advocate for patients. Your primary focus will be coordinating access to take home medications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating prescription fills for patients in high touch disease states
• Expediting patient prescription fills for medications by identifying and resolving barriers including identifying insurance concerns and affordability, supporting clinicians with pharmacy technician tasks, roles and coordinating fulfillment of orders with patients and caregivers
• Partner with pharmacists and team to ensure exceptional care and coordination of medication fills
• Assist with managing complex REMS and manufacturer reporting requirements
• Complete Prior Authorizations/appeal work if applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in business or healthcare related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
