Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Manager in Fayetteville, AR to lead clinical pharmacy services, supervise staff, and ensure compliant dispensing and patient care. The role emphasizes immunizations, medication management, and productive operations within a dynamic pharmacy environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
• An average rating of at least 3.0 on the leadership behaviors on the last performance review if one is on file, and no written disciplinary actions in the last 12 months (Internal candidates only).

Responsibilities

• Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves patient issues in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive patient experience and Walgreens service traits.
• Connects with patients by anticipating needs and offering services, promoting immunizations, diagnostic testing, and other health services.
• Participates in events that reflect the communities Walgreens serves as requested by leadership.
• Counsels patients on usage, side effects, interactions, and over‑the‑counter options; refers to providers when needed.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Oversees workflow, staffing, procedures, and opening/closing the pharmacy; ensures Good Faith Dispensing elements are present.
• Maintains IT knowledge of pharmacy systems, supports staff, and seeks productivity improvements.
• Ensures insurance claims are processed accurately and handles third‑party audits.
• Collaborates with providers to clarify prescriptions and supports immunization and wellness services.
• Manages maintenance, housekeeping, and layout changes of the pharmacy; prepares required records for regulatory compliance.
• Partners with leadership to develop business opportunities and engage the local medical community.
