Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Laboratory Assistant – Pharmacy Technician for the Mesa campus (8 hours per week). Morning lab sessions will be scheduled on a 8-hour weekly pattern, with hands-on setup, demonstrations, and student evaluation.

You will align with program faculty to develop scenarios, guide skill check-offs, and ensure students master essential pharmacy equipment and procedures. A PHARM tech program credential or equivalent plus AZ licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program recognized by the USDE or CHEA (or recognized equivalent/foreign entity) AND three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in a practice setting or expertise in the Pharmacy Technician field.
• OR
• A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for those who are not graduates of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
• Technical Skills: Verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and basic computer software.
• Required Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations: Current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Arizona.
• Hiring Range: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Set up pharmacy lab scenarios and assist with morning lab sessions.
• Guide students through skill check-offs and grade assignments using instructor keys.
• Demonstrate operation of lab equipment and maintain safety protocols.
• Monitor lab inventory and prepare restock requests as needed.
• Assist instructors with grading and tracking student progress.
